September 19, 2016 | 2 min to read

Widow’s Walk, the eagerly-anticipated expansion for the critically acclaimed board game, Betrayal at House on the Hill, will be haunting shelves in less than a month on October 14 and players are counting down the days. To build on the excitement and increase sales at your store, try these ideas:

1. Cross-Market to D&D Players

Betrayal at House on the Hill has many gameplay elements that will appeal to Dungeons & Dragons fans: Players explore a strange haunted house, grow in power as they discover weapons and artifacts, and fight monsters and other opponents in the fifty haunts included in the base game.

Widow’s Walk provides even more opportunities for roleplaying and exploration with an additional fifty new haunts written by some of the most creative and revered names in the gaming and entertainment industry.

How to Promote Widow’s Walk to D&D Players
  • Download the Widow's Walk ad from our marketing materials page and share it through your social media channels.
  • Display Betrayal at House on the Hill and Widow’s Walk near your D&D products.
  • Promote or demo the game and its expansion at your D&D game nights.

2. Share a Live Play-Through

Many of you may remember the original airing of Betrayal at House on the Hill on Geek & Sundry’s popular web series, Tabletop, hosted by Wil Wheaton. With over 2.5 million views, that episode led to an explosion of interest in the game and it hasn’t slowed down.

Well, Geek & Sundry is ready for round two. Join host Ivan Van Norman on October 9 for a livestream play-through of Widow’s Walk on their “Game the Game” show live on Twitch.tv/geekandsundry!

Share the stream on social media or play it in your store for customers to preview the expansion and show just how much fun the Widow’s Walk adds to the base game!

3. Promote with a Halloween Event

With the release of Widow’s Walk so close to Halloween, it’s a great opportunity to promote the game with a spooky party!

You could decorate your store like a haunted house filled with cobwebs, gothic furniture and accoutrements, ghosts, skeletons, and unnerving, old black and white photos.

The Geeky Hostess shows how you can host your own memorable game night using Betrayal at House on the Hill.

Use these ideas as inspiration to help promote interest of Betrayal at House on the Hill: Widow’s Walk coming out on October 14!
